The Beginning of it all…

August 15, 2009 Leave a comment

When I originally set out to start blogging again, I was simply going to write about the everyday happenings of the ordinary life I share with my husband and our feline friend.  Then I stumbled across this and was instantly intrigued.  Could there be a better way to document my life for the next 1001 days?

So now my goal, on top of the 101 things listed below, is to document the completion of this project  in words and pictures.   By the end of the 1001 days, and possibly many years into the future, I will be able to look back at the long journey I took myself on with a new-found appreciation for the adventure that is my life.

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
